Axel Caballero is the director and producer of Cuéntame, a non-profit media organization for the Latino community. He also runs MetaforaPolitica.com, a blog en español that serves as a forum for public opinion. His use of multimedia platforms invites the online gente to get involved in their communities, instigating political action.

Jose is a New Americano whose passion for helping others is only matched by his creativity. In 2010, he launched the City of Chicago’s public health social media strategy, enabling the city to communicate with its residents using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and several other social media tools to help improve the health of the city. Most recently, he joined NewFuturo.com where he is using his communications background to help Latino youth across the country find the tools and resources they need to get into college. He’s led communication efforts that generated more than 250 million media impressions for New Futuro’s national college fair launch, and a Facebook campaign asking students to share their dreams of higher education through pictures which resulted in over 12,000 new Facebook Likes in one month for New Futuro.

Dicen que heroes get remembered but legends never die. When it comes to Sixto “Sugar Man” Rodriguez, he has qualities of both. He released two albums in the 1970’s that, while unsuccessful in the US, became part of the rallying cries of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa. Laura Donnelly Gonzalez and Alicia Rancon are two University of Texas grads that transformed a class project into the powerful nonprofit and online magazine, Latinitas. Since 2009, Laura and Alicia have empowered young Latinas with programs, the most contemporary Web 2.0 platforms, open source software, and social media opportunities for self-expression. As founders of the only agency/publication of its kind, they have engaged 1,000 student bloggers to MyLatinitas.com and trained 20,000 elementary, middle and high school Latinas as reporters, bloggers, vloggers, and pod-casters whose voices bring to life the New Americana.

This revolucionaria is a true survivor who has overcome cancer, and who virtually against all odds gave birth to two healthy boys. Marjoriet founded Devin and Tristan Give Back (DTGB), an organization that conducts charitable activities and collections through various social media outlets to provide relief to everyone from hurricane victims to the terminally ill. Marjoriet serves as a symbol of perseverance and has provided individuals who are on the edge of giving up the support they need to move forward, all while teaching her two boys the value of giving back.

Erika Andiola is a well known advocate for the DREAM Act in Arizona and currently is a district outreach staffer for Rep. Kyrsten Sinema. Being an undocumented immigrant herself, she has been involved with Promise Arizona, a grassroots civic engagement organization for young people. With her new position and the support of the Dream Action Coalition, she and Rep. Sinema hope to gather la comunidad in order to encourage immigration-friendly legislation.

Founded only fifteen months ago, Café Con Leche Republicans has already been ranked as having the number one website amongst similar organizations as well as having a large Twitter following.  This Revolucionario supports many causes such as immigration reform, pushing back against anti-immigration groups, and helping conservatives better understand issues relating to immigration and assimilation.  By being the leader amongst Hispanic-Republic organizations, they are able to promote immigration reform to other conservative groups which will ultimately help them get closer to accomplishing their goal of making America more friendly to immigrants.

As a brilliant, hard-working teacher and leader, Sandra  Ordoñez has an exciting digital history that includes collaboration with open source and web communities. Eric utilizes social media platforms to collaborate with other organizations and garner national support for the work he is doing, empowering Latina youth through photography mentorship, and self-expression.

Julio Salgado is a gay Mexican-born activist artist from Long Beach, California. His status as an undocumented queer activist has fueled the contents of his illustrations. As a co-founder of DreamersAdrift.com, Julio offers a discussion about undocumented youth and helps them display their stories through videos, art, music, spoken word, prose, and poetry.

An undocumented American herself, Gaby walked 1,500 miles from Miami to Washington, DC  in 2010, urging President Obama to stop the separations of families and deportations of DREAM Act–eligible youth. Through her journey in 2010 and until today, Gaby has used social media as a tool in mobilizing for change and spreading the message of DREAMERS like her.

Gina Linn’s lifetime work has been dedicated to finding meaningful, inspirational content, and significant role models among Latinos. Joaquin Guerra has run digital programs and strategies for political campaigns in the past, but in the summer of 2009 he used digital engagement to tell Walter Lara’s story and in return created a movement that allowed for his stay from deportation. This Revolucionario has not only empowered the immigrant rights movement but has also helped non-profits, especially those that serve low-income communities of color, to build their digital engagement capacity.

Award winning actress and filmmaker, Fanny Véliz  has impacted individuals and the Hispanic market by utilizing social media. This Revolucionaria engages in all social media platforms because she recognizes and understands the cultural shifts happening within the Latino community. Through her work as a Latina actress and role model, Fanny inspires her audience that include everyone from  baby boomers to millennials.

Using social media to connect with Latino students and their families, New Futuro is an organization that provides the resources families need in order to plan, prepare, and pay for college. Belinda “Dee Dee” Blasé is the Founder and Co-President of a nonpartisan, female-led political party known as The Tequila Party, where the motto is “Your shot for change.” The movement seeks to rally the Hispanic population to vote in record numbers in the Presidential Election. She has worked on several voter registration efforts from Nebraska to Nevada including her role as the former President of SOMOS Republicans. Through The Tequila Party, Dee Dee hopes to provide pro-immigrant political covering to politicians in high Hispanic populated states and key Presidential election swing states.

Ramiro disrupts the peace one painting at a time. Most of his cardboard paintings of immigrant workers are displayed in front of Hollywood mansions, Rodeo Drive, Capitol Hill, and shared online through his blog Happy Hills. It’s his way of reminding powerful figures of the importance of the immigrant workforce. Felicia ‘Fe’ Montes is a Xicana Indigenous artist and activist from Los Angeles. By co-founding the women’s art collective Mujeres de Maiz, Fe has been able to use social media to share Xicana feminist art, which helped raise awareness about women’s social and spiritual change. Fe’s Xicana activism has led her to organize efforts alongside the Zapatistas, Peace & Dignity Journeys, and La Red Xicana Indigena.

Dr. Angélica Pérez-Litwin is a sixteen-year Clinical Psychologist and Life Coach with a driven desire to empower others, especially women and her Latino community. She is the Creator and Publisher of New Latina, a website that offers relevant content on personal growth and career development. Nearly 5,000 strong, the New Latina community engages in Twitter parties, online conversations, and spotlight articles that amplify the platform’s mission. Dr. Pérez-Litwin will soon launch the ELLA Leadership Institute, an innovative approach to career development. Edgar Mejia, known as a social-do-gooder, has developed a company that focuses on the use of technology to remotely support various chambers of commerce and business organizations.  He has educated Hispanic business owners about better business practices, innovation, and philanthropy. Through his use of social media, Edgar has also supported a number of non-profits in the fight against poverty amongst children.  In addition, he has funded E-Commerce projects that have created sustainable social impacts in Latin America and the United States.

Veronique de Miguel is a native of Argentina and has gained a reputation for being la voz de la mujer in South America.
