The New Americano

Jose is a New Americano whose passion for helping others is only matched by his creativity. In 2010, he launched the City of Chicago’s public health social media strategy, enabling the city to communicate with its residents using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and several other social media tools to help improve the health of the city. Most recently, he joined NewFuturo.com where he is using his communications background to help Latino youth across the country find the tools and resources they need to get into college. He’s led communication efforts that generated more than 250 million media impressions for New Futuro’s national college fair launch, and a Facebook campaign asking students to share their dreams of higher education through pictures which resulted in over 12,000 new Facebook Likes in one month for New Futuro.
